The LX500 is Primera’s compact entry-level color label printer and is designed for businesses producing shorter runs of professional product labels. Primera LX600

The LX600 expands Primera’s platform with faster printing, a print width up to 5 inches, and multiple ink choices. Depending on the application, users can choose dye or pigment ink. Primera also offers its CMY+ Ultra Black dye ink option for applications where darker process black and increased water resistance are desirable. The LX600 is designed for production up to approximately 3,000 labels per day, making it a useful step up for businesses with growing in-house label requirements.

Primera LX610 Color Label Printer With Plotter/Cutter

The LX610 adds something particularly interesting to the LX-Series: integrated digital die-cutting. Instead of always requiring a pre-die-cut label, the LX610 can print and digitally cut custom label shapes from compatible continuous label material. It can also print conventional pre-die-cut labels. For businesses frequently changing label shapes or developing prototypes and short-run products, that capability can provide additional flexibility. Primera LX910

The LX910 is Primera’s wider-format color label printer for businesses that need labels up to approximately 8.25 inches wide. It combines high-resolution color printing with dye and pigment ink options, making it suitable for a broad range of product, packaging, barcode, and identification applications. The additional width also opens the door to larger container labels, packaging labels, chemical labels, and other applications that may not fit narrower desktop printers.

Primera LX4000

The LX4000 is the newest high-volume addition to Primera’s LX-Series and introduces what Primera calls its Big Ink system. Instead of relying on a single traditional ink cartridge, the LX4000 uses separate high-capacity CMY ink tanks along with a reusable thermal inkjet printhead. The printer is available with dye or pigment ink, prints labels up to approximately 8.25 inches wide, and can produce up to approximately 7,500 labels per day depending on the application. For companies producing larger quantities of labels in-house, the LX4000 provides an interesting bridge between traditional desktop color label printers and higher-volume production systems. Dye or Pigment Ink? Choosing the Right Primera Label Material

One of the advantages of several Primera LX-Series printers is the ability to choose between dye and pigment ink. But Primera makes an important point that we agree with completely: ink type is only part of the equation. The label material is also critical to the finished result.

Dye Ink

Dye ink is often an excellent choice when vibrant colors, photographic images, branding, and visual impact are the priorities. Applications can include specialty foods, beverages, cosmetics, health and beauty products, retail products, candles, and other prime-label applications.

Pigment Ink

Pigment ink can be a better choice when increased UV resistance, water resistance, or environmental durability is important. But pigment ink alone does not make every label waterproof or suitable for a demanding application. The facestock, inkjet coating, adhesive, and environment all need to be considered together.

Paper or Film?

Inkjet-coated paper can provide excellent print quality and value for many indoor product-label applications. For applications requiring additional moisture resistance, flexibility, durability, or a more premium appearance, an inkjet-compatible synthetic material such as BOPP or polyester may be the better solution.

What Adhesive Do You Need?

A beautiful label that falls off the product is still the wrong label. Glass, corrugated cardboard, polyethylene, polypropylene, metal, flexible packaging, and other surfaces can require different adhesives. Application temperature, refrigeration, freezing, moisture, chemicals, oils, and how long the label needs to remain attached can also affect adhesive selection.
