Own a QuickLabel Color Inkjet Printer? Start With the Right Label.

QuickLabel has been a familiar name in on-demand color label printing for years, with printer platforms designed for businesses that want to produce professional labels in-house instead of relying entirely on inventories of preprinted labels. From compact entry-level systems to durable pigment-based printers and higher-volume industrial platforms, the QuickLabel family gives businesses a wide range of options for printing product labels, packaging labels, barcodes, variable information, GHS labels, and other color identification applications. But buying the printer is only part of the labeling system. The label material, inkjet coating, adhesive, size, roll construction, ink technology, and environment where the finished label will be used all play a role in performance. PaladinID offers both Stock Inkjet Labels and custom inkjet labels for compatible QuickLabel printers. With more than 40 years of labeling experience, we can help you work backward from your application to determine the right label construction.

The QuickLabel Color Inkjet Printer Family

QuickLabel, an AstroNova brand, offers color label printing systems for businesses ranging from small companies producing shorter label runs to industrial users requiring higher-volume production. Popular QuickLabel inkjet printer models include:
  • QuickLabel QL-E100
  • QuickLabel QL-120X
  • QuickLabel QL-120Xe
  • QuickLabel QL-120D
  • QuickLabel QL-900
  • QuickLabel QL-425
  • QuickLabel QL-435
  • Earlier QuickLabel and Kiaro! inkjet systems still in operation
The QuickLabel lineup includes both dye-based and pigment-based inkjet technologies. Dye-based printers can be an excellent choice for applications where vibrant color and strong visual impact are priorities, while pigment-based systems can provide additional durability for demanding applications involving moisture, chemicals, abrasion, UV exposure, and other environmental conditions. That range of printer capabilities is one reason label selection matters. The right label for one QuickLabel printer or application may not necessarily be the right label for another. That is where PaladinID can help.

Which QuickLabel Inkjet Printer Are You Using?

QuickLabel QL-E100

The QL-E100 is a compact color label printer designed for smaller businesses and lower-volume applications. It provides an accessible way to bring professional color label production in-house for product labels, specialty foods, bottles, jars, health and beauty products, retail products, and other shorter-run applications.

QuickLabel QL-120X

The QL-120X is designed for businesses that need high-quality, on-demand color labels with strong color reproduction and professional image quality. It is well suited for product labels, packaging, retail products, food and beverage applications, barcodes, variable information, and other applications where appearance is important.

QuickLabel QL-120Xe

The QL-120Xe provides a cost-effective way for lower-volume users to take advantage of the QuickLabel 120 platform. It is designed for businesses that want professional color labels in-house without moving immediately into a larger production system.

QuickLabel QL-120D

The QL-120D is the durable member of the QL-120 family and uses pigment-based inks for more demanding applications. It is designed for labels that may encounter moisture, chemicals, UV exposure, sterilization, cryogenic conditions, and other challenging environments. The QL-120D is also used for GHS applications where the correct qualified label construction is especially important. A durable printer does not automatically make every label durable. The ink, facestock, inkjet coating, adhesive, and application all need to work together.

QuickLabel QL-900

The QL-900 moves QuickLabel into a more industrial inkjet platform for businesses with larger-volume color label requirements. Its wider printing capability makes it useful for larger product labels, packaging, chemical labels, containers, warehouse identification, and other applications that may exceed the capabilities of smaller tabletop printers.

QuickLabel QL-425 & QL-435

The QL-425 and QL-435 represent QuickLabel’s move into compact professional digital inkjet label presses for medium- to high-volume production. These systems provide dye- or pigment-based printing options so users can balance vibrant color reproduction with greater durability depending on the application. Whatever QuickLabel printer you are using, PaladinID can help you determine the right label material, adhesive, size, and construction for your printer and application.

Two Ways to Buy Labels for Your QuickLabel Inkjet Printer

1. Stock QuickLabel Inkjet Labels

If your QuickLabel printer uses a common label size and material, start with PaladinID’s Stock Inkjet Labels. We offer hundreds of stock inkjet label size and material combinations for businesses that need quality blank labels without waiting for a custom manufacturing run. Stock labels can be an excellent choice when:
  • Your application uses a common label size
  • You need labels quickly
  • You do not require a specialty adhesive
  • You need smaller quantities
  • You are testing a QuickLabel printer or a new labeling application
  • You want to avoid custom manufacturing when it is not necessary
Before manufacturing something custom, we recommend looking at our Stock Inkjet Labels first. Why manufacture a custom label if PaladinID already has the right solution sitting on the shelf? That is part of what being your Label Guide means. Shop Stock Inkjet Labels

2. Custom QuickLabel Inkjet Labels With Real-Time Online Pricing

What if the label you need is not available as a stock product? This is where PaladinID is changing the way custom inkjet labels are purchased. Our new Custom Inkjet Label App allows you to configure a custom blank inkjet label and see current pricing in real time. Traditionally, purchasing custom labels meant sending specifications to a supplier, requesting a quote, waiting for pricing, changing the quantity, requesting another price, and waiting again. We thought there should be a better way.

Now There Is.

Select your printer. Choose your label shape and size. Choose your material. Enter your quantity. See your pricing in real time. Change the quantity and immediately see how it affects the price. Compare different configurations without repeatedly requesting another quote. We believe this can revolutionize how businesses research and purchase custom blank inkjet labels. More Than 5,000 Custom QuickLabel Inkjet Label Sizes to Choose From

One of the biggest advantages of the PaladinID Custom Inkjet Label App is our extensive library of existing label sizes. We offer more than 5,000 sizes to choose from. That gives QuickLabel printer owners thousands of possibilities without automatically requiring the expense of manufacturing a new cutting die. Labels can be configured for applications including:
  • Food and beverage products
  • Bottles and jars
  • Boxes and cartons
  • Health and beauty products
  • Cosmetics
  • Nutraceutical products
  • Chemical labels
  • GHS labels
  • Industrial identification
  • Barcode labels
  • Warehouse labels
  • Retail products
  • Private-label products
  • Packaging applications
  • Variable-data labels
  • Specialty applications
Need a rectangle? Square? Circle? Oval? Or another configuration? There is a good chance we already have tooling available for the size you need. Can’t find the exact size? Give us a call. More than 5,000 sizes is a great starting point, but it does not represent the limit of what PaladinID can manufacture.

Dye or Pigment Ink? Your QuickLabel Media Still Matters.

QuickLabel offers both dye- and pigment-based inkjet printing technologies. Each has advantages, but neither eliminates the need to choose the correct label material.

Dye-Based QuickLabel Printers

Dye-based printers can produce vibrant colors and excellent graphics for prime product labels, branding, packaging, retail products, food and beverage labels, and other visually demanding applications.

Pigment-Based QuickLabel Printers

Pigment-based systems are designed for applications where increased resistance to moisture, chemicals, UV exposure, fading, and other environmental conditions is important. But pigment ink by itself does not make every label waterproof, chemical resistant, or suitable for outdoor use. The facestock, coating, adhesive, and entire finished construction still matter.

Paper or Film?

Inkjet-coated paper can be an excellent solution for many indoor product and identification applications. For applications requiring additional moisture resistance, durability, flexibility, or a more premium appearance, an inkjet-compatible synthetic film such as BOPP or polyester may be the better solution.

What Adhesive Do You Need?

A beautiful printed label still needs to stay attached to the product. Glass, corrugated cardboard, polyethylene, polypropylene, metal, flexible packaging, and other surfaces can require very different adhesive constructions. Application temperature, refrigeration, freezing, moisture, chemicals, oils, and the required life of the label can all affect adhesive selection. This is why PaladinID wants to understand the application before recommending the label.

Why Buy QuickLabel Inkjet Labels From PaladinID?

There are plenty of places where you can purchase a roll of blank inkjet labels. PaladinID’s job is to help you purchase the right label.

More Than 40 Years of Label Experience

PaladinID has spent more than four decades solving labeling applications. Facestocks, inkjet coatings, adhesives, liners, printer compatibility, roll configurations, application surfaces, and environmental conditions all matter.

We Understand Dye and Pigment Inkjet Applications

The QuickLabel product family includes printers designed for both vibrant prime-label printing and more demanding durable applications. Those applications can require very different label constructions. We look beyond whether a roll simply fits the printer and consider what the finished label needs to accomplish after it is printed and applied.

We Start With Your Application

We do not start with the label we want to sell. We start with what you are trying to accomplish and work backward to determine the right solution.

Stock Labels When Stock Makes Sense

If one of our Stock Inkjet Labels works for your QuickLabel printer and application, that is where we will start. There is no reason to manufacture something custom if we already have the right solution available. View PaladinID Stock Inkjet Labels

Custom Labels When You Need Something Different

Different size? Different material? Specialty adhesive? Unique shape? Particular roll configuration? That is where custom converting becomes valuable.

More Than 5,000 Available Sizes

Our extensive die library gives QuickLabel users thousands of existing size options and can eliminate new tooling costs in many applications.

Real-Time Custom Label Pricing

Our Custom Inkjet Label App allows you to configure a label and immediately see pricing based on your selections. Change the size. Change the material. Change the quantity. See what happens to your price. We believe buying custom labels should be that simple.

Don’t Start With the Label. Start With the Application.

After more than four decades in the labeling industry, this is one of the most important lessons we have learned. We do not start with the product we want to sell. We start with your end goal and work backward. Which QuickLabel printer are you using? Are you using dye or pigment ink? What are you labeling? What surface is the label being applied to? What does the finished label need to look like? What environment will it encounter? Does it need to meet a durability or regulatory requirement? How long does it need to remain attached? Once we understand those answers, we can determine the appropriate:
  • QuickLabel printer compatibility
  • Label size and shape
  • Facestock
  • Inkjet coating
  • Adhesive
  • Liner
  • Roll configuration
  • Finished label durability
We don’t believe in forcing every customer into the same label. We believe in finding the solution that works for your application. That is what being your Label Guide is all about.
