Own a Kiaro Inkjet Label Printer? The Right Label Material Makes All the Difference.

The QuickLabel Kiaro! family of color inkjet label printers has been used by businesses that want to bring professional, full-color label production in-house.

From compact tabletop printers to wider-format systems and durable pigment-ink models, Kiaro! printers give companies the flexibility to print labels on demand instead of maintaining large inventories of preprinted labels.

But owning a quality color label printer is only part of the solution.

The label material, inkjet coating, adhesive, size, roll construction, and environment where the finished label will be used can all affect performance.

PaladinID offers both Stock Inkjet Labels and custom inkjet labels for compatible Kiaro! printers. With more than 40 years of labeling experience, we can help you work backward from your application to determine the right label construction.

The QuickLabel Kiaro! Inkjet Printer Family

Kiaro! color label printers were developed by QuickLabel, an AstroNova company, for businesses that need high-quality digital color labels produced on demand.

Depending on the model, the Kiaro! family includes both dye-based and pigment-based inkjet technology as well as standard and wide-format printing capabilities.

Kiaro! printer models include:

  • QuickLabel Kiaro! / K-100
  • QuickLabel Kiaro! D / K-100D
  • QuickLabel Kiaro! 50
  • QuickLabel Kiaro! 50D
  • QuickLabel Kiaro! 200
  • QuickLabel Kiaro! 200D / K-200D
  • Kiaro! QL-120 and related QuickLabel systems

The standard Kiaro! models use dye-based ink designed to produce vibrant full-color graphics, while the Kiaro! D models use pigment-based ink for applications requiring increased resistance to moisture, abrasion, chemicals, and environmental exposure.

The Kiaro! 200 and 200D systems expand the platform into wider labels for applications that require significantly larger label formats.

That range of printer capabilities is important because the right label for one Kiaro! model or application may not necessarily be the right label for another.

That is where PaladinID can help.

Which Kiaro! Printer Are You Using?

Kiaro! / K-100

The original Kiaro! is a high-resolution, dye-based color inkjet label printer designed for on-demand production of professional product labels, packaging labels, barcodes, variable information, and full-color graphics.

With print resolution up to 1200 x 1200 dpi, the Kiaro! was designed to combine high-quality color output with production speeds suitable for commercial label applications.

Kiaro! D / K-100D

The Kiaro! D takes the platform in a different direction by using pigment-based inks designed for applications requiring greater durability.

These applications can include labels exposed to moisture, abrasion, chemicals, temperature changes, sunlight, transportation, and other demanding environments.

For these applications, selecting the correct inkjet-compatible label material becomes especially important because the ink, facestock, coating, and adhesive need to work together as a complete labeling system.

Kiaro! 50 & Kiaro! 50D

The Kiaro! 50 family provides a compact solution for narrower labels. The Kiaro! 50 uses dye-based inks, while the Kiaro! 50D uses pigment inks for applications requiring additional durability.

These printers can be useful for smaller product labels, identification labels, bottles, containers, packaging, and other applications where a narrower label format is appropriate.

Kiaro! 200 & Kiaro! 200D

The Kiaro! 200 family was designed for substantially wider labels. These systems can accommodate label media approximately 5 to 9 inches wide, opening the door to larger product, chemical, industrial, packaging, container, and identification labels.

The Kiaro! 200 uses dye-based inks, while the Kiaro! 200D uses pigment-based inks for more demanding applications.

Whatever Kiaro! printer you are using, PaladinID can help you determine the right label construction for your printer and application.

Two Ways to Buy Labels for Your Kiaro! Inkjet Printer

1. Stock Kiaro! Inkjet Labels

If your Kiaro! printer uses a common label size and material, start with PaladinID’s Stock Inkjet Labels.

We offer hundreds of stock inkjet label size and material combinations for businesses that need quality blank labels without waiting for a custom manufacturing run.

Stock labels can be an excellent choice when:

  • Your application uses a common label size
  • You need labels quickly
  • You do not require a specialty adhesive
  • You need smaller quantities
  • You are testing a Kiaro! printer or a new labeling application
  • You want to avoid custom manufacturing when it is not necessary

Before manufacturing something custom, we recommend looking at our Stock Inkjet Labels first.

Why manufacture a custom label if PaladinID already has the right solution sitting on the shelf?

That is part of what being your Label Guide means.

2. Custom Kiaro! Inkjet Labels With Real-Time Online Pricing

What if the label you need is not available as a stock product?

This is where PaladinID is changing the way custom inkjet labels are purchased.

Our new Custom Inkjet Label App allows you to configure a custom blank inkjet label and see current pricing in real time.

Traditionally, purchasing custom labels meant sending specifications to a supplier, requesting a quote, waiting for pricing, changing the quantity, requesting another price, and waiting again.

We thought there should be a better way.

Now There Is.

Select your printer.

Choose your label shape and size.

Choose your material.

Enter your quantity.

See your pricing in real time.

Change the quantity and immediately see how it affects the price. Compare different configurations without repeatedly requesting another quote.

We believe this can revolutionize how businesses research and purchase custom blank inkjet labels.

More Than 5,000 Custom Inkjet Label Sizes to Choose From

One of the biggest advantages of the PaladinID Custom Inkjet Label App is our extensive library of existing label sizes.

We offer more than 5,000 sizes to choose from.

That gives Kiaro! printer owners thousands of possibilities without automatically requiring the expense of manufacturing a new cutting die.

Labels can be configured for applications including:

  • Food and beverage products
  • Bottles and jars
  • Boxes and cartons
  • Health and beauty products
  • Nutraceutical products
  • Chemical and GHS labels
  • Industrial identification
  • Barcode labels
  • Warehouse labels
  • Retail products
  • Private-label products
  • Packaging applications
  • Variable-data labels
  • Specialty applications

Need a rectangle? Square? Circle? Oval? Or another configuration?

There is a good chance we already have tooling available for the size you need.

Can’t find the exact size?

Give us a call. More than 5,000 sizes is a great starting point, but it does not represent the limit of what PaladinID can manufacture.

Dye or Pigment Ink? Your Label Material Still Matters.

One of the interesting features of the Kiaro! family is that different models use different ink technologies.

Kiaro! Dye-Based Printers

Dye-based Kiaro! printers are designed to produce vibrant, high-quality color output. They can be an excellent choice for product labels, packaging, branding, retail products, and applications where outstanding color reproduction is important.

Kiaro! D Pigment-Based Printers

Kiaro! D models use pigment-based inks designed for applications requiring increased resistance to moisture, abrasion, chemicals, sunlight, and other environmental conditions.

But choosing a pigment printer does not automatically make every label durable.

The label material, inkjet coating, adhesive, and finished application still need to work together.

Paper or Film?

Inkjet-coated paper can be an excellent choice for many product and packaging applications.

For applications requiring additional moisture resistance, durability, flexibility, or a different finished appearance, an inkjet-compatible synthetic film may be the better choice.

What Adhesive Do You Need?

The correct adhesive depends on what you are labeling.

Glass, corrugated cardboard, polyethylene, polypropylene, metal, flexible packaging, and other surfaces can all present different adhesion challenges.

Application temperature, service temperature, refrigeration, freezing, moisture, chemicals, and how long the label needs to remain attached can also affect adhesive selection.

This is why PaladinID wants to understand the application before recommending the label.

Why Buy Kiaro! Inkjet Labels From PaladinID?

There are plenty of places where you can purchase a roll of blank inkjet labels.

PaladinID’s job is to help you purchase the right label.

More Than 40 Years of Label Experience

PaladinID has spent more than four decades solving labeling applications. Facestocks, inkjet coatings, adhesives, liners, printer compatibility, roll configurations, application surfaces, and environmental conditions all matter.

We Understand Dye and Pigment Inkjet Applications

The Kiaro! product family includes both dye- and pigment-based printing systems.

That means choosing a label should involve more than simply finding a roll that fits inside the printer.

The material needs to work with the printer while also meeting the requirements of the finished application.

We Start With Your Application

We do not start with the label we want to sell.

We start with what you are trying to accomplish and work backward to determine the right solution.

Stock Labels When Stock Makes Sense

If one of our Stock Inkjet Labels works for your Kiaro! printer and application, that is where we will start.

There is no reason to manufacture something custom if we already have the right solution available.

Custom Labels When You Need Something Different

Different size? Different material? Specialty adhesive? Unique shape? Particular roll configuration?

That is where custom converting becomes valuable.

More Than 5,000 Available Sizes

Our extensive die library gives Kiaro! users thousands of existing size options and can eliminate new tooling costs in many applications.

Real-Time Custom Label Pricing

Our Custom Inkjet Label App allows you to configure a label and immediately see pricing based on your selections.

Change the size. Change the material. Change the quantity. See what happens to your price.

We believe buying custom labels should be that simple.

Don’t Start With the Label. Start With the Application.

After more than four decades in the labeling industry, this is one of the most important lessons we have learned.

We do not start with the product we want to sell.

We start with your end goal and work backward.

Which Kiaro! printer are you using?

Is it a dye- or pigment-based model?

What are you labeling?

What surface is the label being applied to?

What does the finished label need to look like?

What environment will it encounter?

How long does it need to remain attached?

Once we understand those answers, we can determine the appropriate:

  • Kiaro! printer compatibility
  • Label size and shape
  • Facestock
  • Inkjet coating
  • Adhesive
  • Liner
  • Roll configuration
  • Finished label durability

We don’t believe in forcing every customer into the same label.

We believe in finding the solution that works for your application.

That is what being your Label Guide is all about.
