Product Spotlight January 5, 2019

Does your packaging require tamper evident security labels? Do you have products that are sensitive to temperature or moisture?

Are you looking for reliable equipment that can handle all of your needs, including variable data?

Picture this: You are packaging and shipping a truckload of frozen products. You want to ensure that the products reach the customer without starting to thaw. Your customer requires assurance that the food they are paying top dollar for is of the absolute highest quality and has been shipped properly.

Solution:  Create a label with “Thaw Alert Inks.” The inks start out clear and only appears when the product is frozen. When the product thaws they go back to being clear. This only happens once, so you know if the product has been refrozen. You have the peace of mind that safety measures are in place and your customers get the added layer of security that their products are perfect.

Our Complete Suite of Tamper Evident Security Labels

PaladinID has a complete suite of tamper evident security labels, from basic tamper proof labels to the ability for custom tamper proof stickers or void stickers (as we like to call them.) These are also called tamper evident, destructible, or security labels.

You can also use these tamper evident labels without pre-printed information. To use variable data, you can run the label through a bar code label printer using direct thermal label material or thermal transfer label materials.

We cover all of the bases and have the most extensive line of products to help keep your products from being a victim of tampering or even counterfeiting.

Here are just some of the products we offer;

Tamper Evident Film

This product features a waterproof facesheet that is tear and grease resistant. It is also able to resist temperature fluctuations.  It is designed to work with any thermal transfer label printer along with impact and non-impact label printers.

The facestock is specifically designed to use with aggressive adhesive to delaminate, which will show signs of tamper evidence.

Possible uses are:

  • Auto supply applications
  • Shipping/containers industry
  • Pharmaceutical industry

Direct Thermal Tamper Evident Paper

Direct Thermal Tamper Evident Paper is used in all high speed direct thermal label printers. It is designed to delaminate and/or break into pieces when trying to be removed.  It provides excellent flexo printing capabilities and is smudge resistance. You will enjoy crisp bar codes and text for on-demand printing. It performs extremely well in normal and freezer applications since it has an all-temperature permanent adhesive. This makes it suitable for cold, damp labeling applications.

It is an excellent choice for a variety of surfaces including:

  • polystyrene
  • polypropylene
  • polyethylene
  • corrugate

Possible uses are:

  • Corrugated boxes
  • Plastic food containers
  • Plastic bottles
  • Pharmacy applications
  • Barcoding and pricing labels (does not need tamper slits)
  • Logistics warehousing
  • Promotional labels

White/Silver Poly Void:

This material is available in either a white or silver film.  It is an excellent choice when moisture or chemical resistance is a must.  The labels can be pre-printed and/or used in a thermal transfer label printer.  The acrylic adhesive adheres well to a variety of surfaces including metal, low and high energy plastics, powder coated and polycarbonate materials.  When the label is removed it will show a void pattern. You are unable to see this text when the labels is applied to the product, only when the label is removed.

Possible uses are:

  • Asset labels
  • Pharmacy labels
  • Suitable for autoclave and famme sterilization methods
  • Security labels

Thermochromic Inks:

This new technology is often overlooked.  Thermochromic inks use a special pigment which changes from a colored state to colorless in response to a rise in temperature.  “Color shifters” change from one color to another. “Thaw Alert Inks,” that we mentioned earlier, are also included in this line.

These are perfect for:

  • Promotional items
  • Anti-counterfeit
  • Smart packaging
  • Safety monitoring
  • Food temperature labels
  • Sterilization applications
