The Story Behind the PaladinID Name

Editor’s Note: This article was originally published in October 2007 to announce the launch of the PaladinID brand. We’ve preserved it as part of our company history while adding links to current resources for today’s readers.

After spending more than 19 years in the automatic identification (Auto ID) and barcode industry—and 10 years building my own business—I was proud to announce the launch of our new company name and website: PaladinID. Many people have asked, what does PaladinID mean? Another word for Paladin is “Man Of The Hour”. That is exactly what we are all about. I tacked on the ID because we are in the auto-identification business.

This change represented much more than a new name. It reflected our commitment to helping customers find practical, reliable labeling and barcode solutions backed by knowledgeable service and long-term relationships.

One of the accomplishments I’m most proud of is our customers’ loyalty. At the time this article was originally published, more than 90% of our customers had been with us for seven years or longer. That level of trust has always been the foundation of our business, and we remain committed to earning it every day.

I’d also like to recognize Flock Marketing of Grand Ledge, Michigan (formerly Acorn Creative in Laconia, New Hampshire) for their guidance and hard work throughout our rebranding process. Their creativity and dedication helped bring the PaladinID brand to life.

We officially introduced the new PaladinID brand at NEPCON East 2007 in Boston, Massachusetts, where we had the opportunity to reconnect with customers and introduce our new identity to the manufacturing and electronics industries.

Where PaladinID Is Today

Since our rebranding in 2007, PaladinID has continued to grow while remaining focused on one mission: helping businesses improve their labeling, barcode, and identification systems.
