As you may know, Zebra has discontinued their Thermalock 4000 label material, creating a significant gap in the market for customers requiring weather-resistant direct thermal label material for their mobile printers. An international auto transport company approached us to find a solution for their labeling needs, specifically for labels that could be applied to automobiles being transported globally.
We recommended our innovative product, RevealPro High-Heat, which is designed to withstand the high temperatures that the labels would face throughout their lifespan. After rigorous testing, the company approved the label material, and the RevealPro High-Heat labels have performed exceptionally well over the past 18 months.
About a month ago, the same company contacted us with a new request: to incorporate an RFID tag into these labels. This presented a unique challenge, as it had never been done before. We collaborated with a specialized company to take the raw material label stock and integrate an RFID inlay. After testing a prototype, the labels worked perfectly, much to the customer’s satisfaction. Now, they can use their mobile printers in the field to label automobiles and program the RFID tags in one seamless step, saving hours of labor and significantly reducing costs.
