Own a SwiftColor Inkjet Label Printer? Start with the Right Label for your printer and application.

SwiftColor offers high-speed, full-color digital inkjet label printers designed for businesses that want to produce professional labels and tags on demand.

The SwiftColor SCL-4000 family gives companies the ability to print colorful product labels, barcodes, identification labels, tags, packaging labels, healthcare labels, and other applications without maintaining large inventories of preprinted labels.

But buying the printer is only part of the labeling system.

Label material, inkjet coating, adhesive, size, roll construction, ink technology, and the environment where the finished label will be used all affect performance.

PaladinID offers both Stock Inkjet Labels and custom inkjet labels for compatible SwiftColor printers. With more than 40 years of labeling experience, we can help you work backward from your application to determine the right label construction.

The SwiftColor SCL-4000 Inkjet Label Printer Family

SwiftColor’s primary dedicated label printers are the SCL-4000D and SCL-4000P.

Both are high-speed, high-resolution, single-pass digital inkjet label printers designed to produce full-color labels and identification tags on demand.

  • SwiftColor SCL-4000D Dye-Based Inkjet Label Printer
  • SwiftColor SCL-4000P Pigment-Based Inkjet Label Printer

Both printers offer 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution and support roll-fed and fanfold label and tag media.

The major difference is the ink technology.

The SCL-4000D uses dye-based ink for bright, vibrant color reproduction, while the SCL-4000P uses pigment-based ink for applications where increased durability, weather resistance, and long-term color stability are important.

That difference makes selecting the correct label material especially important.

The right media needs to work with the printer and with the environment where the finished label will ultimately be used.

That is where PaladinID can help.

Which SwiftColor Label Printer Are You Using?

SwiftColor SCL-4000D

The SwiftColor SCL-4000D is a dye-based, full-color inkjet label printer designed for applications where high-quality color reproduction is a priority.

It is well-suited for applications such as:

  • Food and beverage labels
  • Bottle labels
  • Product labels
  • Prescription and healthcare labels
  • Cosmetics
  • Retail labels
  • Barcode labels
  • Packaging labels
  • Shipping and carton labels
  • Variable-data labels

The SCL-4000D produces bright, high-resolution graphics and text, making it a strong option for applications where appearance and branding matter.

SwiftColor SCL-4000P

The SwiftColor SCL-4000P uses pigment-based ink and is designed for applications that require greater durability and environmental resistance.

Potential applications include:

  • Plant tags
  • Nursery tags
  • Outdoor identification
  • Industrial labels
  • Chemical labels
  • Healthcare labels
  • Product identification
  • Barcode labels
  • Longer-life tags and labels

The pigment ink provides additional resistance to environmental exposure, but the ink is only one part of the finished label.

The facestock, inkjet coating, adhesive, and application environment still need to work together.

Two Ways to Buy Labels for Your SwiftColor Inkjet Printer

1. Stock SwiftColor Inkjet Labels

If your SwiftColor printer uses a common label size and material, start with PaladinID’s Stock Inkjet Labels.

We offer hundreds of stock inkjet label size and material combinations for businesses that need quality blank labels without waiting for a custom manufacturing run.

Stock labels can be an excellent choice when:

  • Your application uses a common label size
  • You need labels quickly
  • You do not require a specialty adhesive
  • You need smaller quantities
  • You are testing a SwiftColor printer or new labeling application
  • You want to avoid custom manufacturing when it is not necessary

Before manufacturing something custom, we recommend looking at our Stock Inkjet Labels first.

Why manufacture a custom label if PaladinID already has the right solution sitting on the shelf?

That is part of what being your Label Guide means.

2. Custom SwiftColor Inkjet Labels With Real-Time Online Pricing

What if the label you need is not available as a stock product?

This is where PaladinID is changing the way custom inkjet labels are purchased.

Our new Custom Inkjet Label App allows you to configure a custom blank inkjet label and see current pricing in real time.

Traditionally, purchasing custom labels meant sending specifications to a supplier, requesting a quote, waiting for pricing, changing the quantity, requesting another price, and waiting again.

We thought there should be a better way.

Now There Is.

Select your printer.

Choose your label shape and size.

Choose your material.

Enter your quantity.

See your pricing in real time.

Change the quantity and immediately see how it affects the price. Compare different configurations without repeatedly requesting another quote.

We believe this can revolutionize how businesses research and purchase custom blank inkjet labels.

More Than 5,000 Custom SwiftColor Inkjet Label Sizes to Choose From

One of the biggest advantages of the PaladinID Custom Inkjet Label App is our extensive library of existing label sizes.

We offer more than 5,000 sizes to choose from.

That gives SwiftColor printer owners thousands of possibilities without automatically requiring the expense of manufacturing a new cutting die.

Labels can be configured for applications including:

  • Food and beverage products
  • Bottles and containers
  • Boxes and cartons
  • Healthcare products
  • Prescription labels
  • Cosmetics
  • Nutraceutical products
  • Industrial identification
  • Barcode labels
  • Plant and nursery tags
  • Retail products
  • Packaging applications
  • Variable-data labels
  • Specialty applications

Need a rectangle? Square? Circle? Oval? Or another configuration?

We likely already have tooling available for the size you need.

Can’t find the exact size?

Give us a call. More than 5,000 sizes is a great starting point, but it does not represent the limit of what PaladinID can manufacture.

Dye or Pigment Ink? Choosing the Right SwiftColor Label Material

One of the biggest differences between the SwiftColor SCL-4000D and SCL-4000P is the ink technology.

SCL-4000D Dye-Based Ink

Dye-based ink is designed to produce bright, vibrant colors and excellent image quality.

That makes the SCL-4000D particularly attractive for product labels, packaging, branding, retail products, healthcare applications, food labels, and other applications where appearance is important.

SCL-4000P Pigment-Based Ink

Pigment-based ink provides increased resistance to weather and environmental exposure and improved long-term color stability.

That makes the SCL-4000P well-suited for plant tags, outdoor identification, industrial labels, and other applications that require added durability.

But pigment ink by itself does not make every label weatherproof or suitable for every demanding environment.

The entire label construction still matters.

Paper or Film?

Inkjet-coated paper can be an excellent choice for many indoor product, packaging, healthcare, and identification applications.

For applications requiring additional moisture resistance, durability, flexibility, or a different finished appearance, an inkjet-compatible synthetic material may be a better solution.

What Adhesive Do You Need?

A beautiful printed label that doesn’t stay attached is still the wrong label.

Glass, corrugated cardboard, polyethylene, polypropylene, metal, flexible packaging, and other surfaces can require different adhesive constructions.

Application temperature, refrigeration, freezing, moisture, chemicals, outdoor exposure, and the required label life can all affect adhesive selection.

This is why PaladinID wants to understand the application before recommending the label.

Why Buy SwiftColor Inkjet Labels From PaladinID?

There are plenty of places where you can purchase a roll of blank inkjet labels.

PaladinID’s job is to help you purchase the right label.

More Than 40 Years of Label Experience

PaladinID has spent more than four decades solving labeling applications. Facestocks, inkjet coatings, adhesives, liners, printer compatibility, roll configurations, application surfaces, and environmental conditions all matter.

We Understand Dye and Pigment Inkjet Applications

The SwiftColor SCL-4000 family gives users two very different ink options.

The SCL-4000D focuses on brilliant dye-based color reproduction, while the SCL-4000P is designed for greater durability with pigment ink.

Those applications can require different label materials.

We look beyond whether a roll simply fits the printer and consider what the finished label needs to accomplish after it is printed and applied.

We Start With Your Application

We do not start with the label we want to sell.

We start with what you are trying to accomplish and work backward to determine the right solution.

Stock Labels When Stock Makes Sense

If one of our Stock Inkjet Labels works for your SwiftColor printer and application, that is where we will start.

There is no reason to manufacture something custom if we already have the right solution available.

Custom Labels When You Need Something Different

Different size? Different material? Specialty adhesive? Unique shape? Particular roll configuration?

That is where custom converting becomes valuable.

More Than 5,000 Available Sizes

Our extensive die library gives SwiftColor users thousands of existing size options and can eliminate new tooling costs in many applications.

Real-Time Custom Label Pricing

Our Custom Inkjet Label App allows you to configure a label and immediately see pricing based on your selections.

Change the size. Change the material. Change the quantity. See what happens to your price.

We believe buying custom labels should be that simple.

Don’t Start With the Label. Start With the Application.

After more than four decades in the labeling industry, this is one of the most important lessons we have learned.

We do not start with the product we want to sell.

We start with your end goal and work backward.

Which SwiftColor printer are you using?

Are you using the dye-based SCL-4000D or pigment-based SCL-4000P?

What are you labeling?

What surface is the label being applied to?

What should the finished label look like?

What environment will it encounter?

How long does it need to remain attached?

Once we understand those answers, we can determine the appropriate:

  • SwiftColor printer compatibility
  • Label size and shape
  • Facestock
  • Inkjet coating
  • Adhesive
  • Liner
  • Roll configuration
  • Finished label durability

We don’t believe in forcing every customer into the same label.

We believe in finding the solution that works for your application.

That is what being your Label Guide is all about.
