I recently installed a Source Technologies STP1120N printer for a new customer. This printer replaced a IntelliTech printer. The customer told me that one of the reasons they were upgrading was because their current printers were too hard to use. Sometimes it took the operators over an hour to setup the printers and get the labels calibrated and configured properly. I showed the customer how easy it was to load labels and calibrate the Source Technologies printer. It took less than 5 seconds, yes 5 seconds. The customer as in awe! The STP1120N has an auto loading feature that not only calibrates the labels, but finds top of form using only one label. It really is a breeze to use. Another feature they loved was the touchscreen front panel display which makes the printer easy to use and navigate. One of the features I personally like is that all of the mechanicals are electronically controlled. Other printer brands use a manual approach. When you control things electronically, your adjustments are precise and can be accurately recorded, whereas in a manual situation, you are just guessing as to where the settings should be.

The software chosen for this application was Bartender For Windows from Seagull Scientific. The customer loved the easy setup and user interface. They started setting up their formats within minutes. About a week later I called to see how they liked our printing solution and the customer stated, “The printer and software are both fantastic and we thank you very much for your help”. I love it when a plan comes together. Thank you Source Technologies for producing such a great printer and to Seagull Scientific for making a great bar code labeling software package.

I have collected a series of video’s that demonstrate the features of our new line of bar code printers. We are excited about many of the new features they offer. In this video, you will see the first of its kind, the auto-loading of labels, and yes, it is that simple. You will also notice that it only wastes one label for setup and calibration. Most printers today require you to feed and waste many labels when loading and calibrating, these printers do not. We have also put together a video resource page for more information on these exciting new printers, see below.
