Computers Unlimited Inventory Tracking System

Computers Unlimited provides software for inventory tracking for the welding supply industry.  Their package is called TIMS (Total Inventory Management System).

Bar Coded Welding Cylinders

An integral part of their system is a bar coded label that is applied to cylinders and all of the different parts a welding supply company sells.  Since Computers Unlimited does not sell labels, we were called to fill in that piece of the puzzle.  This application required a pre-printed sequentially numbered bar code labels that could withstand the harsh environment of a manufacturing floor.  This is one of the services we offer.  We suggested a polyester label with an overlam to protect the text and bar code that was printed on the label.  We came up with a special design that would lay flat on the curved section of the cylinder.  The customer is happy with the labels and how their new inventory program is performing.  Our labels will work in any inventory application and we are happy to be working with Computers Unlimited.  Pictured are some cylinders that have been bar coded.

CTM Label Applicators and PaladinID

Chuck Pingeton & Dana Ritchie

CTM applicator representative, Chuck Pingeton met with me last week to go over the different models of applicators available.

Pictured is Chuck and myself after our meeting. Chuck will be working with me on projects that require automatic labeling and print and apply systems.  These label applicators are used to reduce labor, save time and money where there is a high volume of labeling products.  CTM has been in business for over 25 years and also have a great deal of experience designing different material handling solutions. I am very happy to be working with them.

For more information on CTM, please visit their website.  I have included a video from one of their systems.  This video shows a 3600 Cornerwrap print & apply in operation.  I will be posting more videos in the near future to give you an idea of the depth CTM provides for their customers.  For more information about this CTM 3600 Cornerwrap machine, or any other configuration, email dritchie@paladinid.com or 603.527.0256.

Label Placard For Warehouse Or Reusable Container Labeling

Which One Looks Like Your Company?

I came across a product for one of my customers, and it is a label placard.  What does it do, you ask?  It is label material that sticks to shelving or reusable containers and then you can stick your printed labels to it.  The beauty of this product is that your printed labels can be removed cleanly.  Reusable containers, if your company uses containers over and over, you know the cost of having to remove labels.  This product not only saves time, but makes for a better looking product when the labels are cleanly removed.  Warehousing, if you are like most companies who change location names often, this makes it easier when things change.  You do not have to use a flat razor to remove old labels, they just peel off with a little effort.  If you would like to see samples of this product, please email me at dritchie@paladinid.com .   To compliment the label placard, we carry a large assortment of durable warehouse labels, either pre-printed or blank.  The video below will demonstrate what this product is all about and how to successfully use it.

Mobile Printers Can Now Print Permanent Labels!

Datamax Corporation just released a new product called D-Transfer that allows mobile portable printers to use thermal transfer printing for a much more permanent label than what is currently available using direct thermal labels.  All mobile printers use direct thermal label stock which have a short shelf and use life.  The companies the use labels and barcodes have asked for a more permanent solution and Datamax has answered the call.  This new product can be used in all mobile printers.  We have stock sizes for the O’Neil printer line and custom sizes for the Zebra, Datamax and Sato lines.  I am just putting together a white paper that goes into more detail.  If you are looking for a permanent solution to your mobile printing needs, here is your answer.  Conact us for more information.

New Thermal Transfer Ribbon

DNP has released a new thermal transfer ribbon called the W127 that works in all thermal transfer printers.  It is a wax formulation that is 15% longer than the traditional 1,476′ for a Zebra printer and 984′ for a Datamax or Sato printer.  You ask, how can this be?  It is because they use a thinner carrier or liner.  It has the same OD (outer dimensions) as the standard OEM ribbons, but there is more length per roll.  This ribbon is not only less expensive per foot, it will mean less ribbon changes per day and less shipping costs per order.  It is a win win situation for everyone.  To find out more about this ribbon or for a sample roll to test.  Please contact us.
